The questions this poem asks resonate with me. There are people I’ve missed have the opportunity to see and being physically close to. But there are some I’ve never met in person than I feel more connected to than those I’ve known for years. The relationship between emotional closeness and physical proximity can be complicated. I also find myself thinking about past generations when, because travel was more difficult or expensive, relatives and even married couples would be separated for years and still maintain their connections.
